Santiago de Chile is the capital city of Chile, and is also the largest city. Santiago is Chile's cultural heart. Downtown Santiago or Santiago Centro is incredibly vibrant and eclectic, with street performances, a constant of people in dedicated pedestrian zones, and architecture new and old. There are also many restaurants and retail stores here. There are many significant architecture in Santiago Centro, including Municipalidad de Santiago, Central Post Office Building, and Metropolitan Cathedral of Santiago.
