Welcome, young Wizards, to the
Welcome, young Wizards, to the class rolls of Ravenwood.
Today's focus is the Professor of the Ice School, Lydia Greyrose.
Known as a firm but kind fixture of Wizard City, Professor Greyrose originally hails from the picturesque, fairytale town of Karamelle, located amongst the Candied Islands, which run between the brisk lands of Nodor and the frozen shores of Penguinonia.
Karamelle produces more than three hundred types of sugar! However, the village is not all sugar and spice, but also harbors dark, bitter notes.
When Merle Ambrose was barely a grey-haired wizard, he journeyed to Karamelle on his quest to find the best and brightest practitioners of the magical arts. He became embroiled in a sticky situation, trapped by the Brothers Bonbon, and he only escaped due to the fortuitous intervention of Lydia Greyrose.
That adventure was followed by numerous others: driving back the Gobbler army of Baron Gormandizer; taunting the Night Hags of Darkmoor; even rescuing an excitable young Krok, Memphis, from an unfriendly band of Spike Horns.
It may astonish today's wizards to learn that Professor Greyrose had such an eventful history, but it should be no surprise at all that Lydia was the first teacher Merle Ambrose recruited to train at the newly founded Ravenwood. Her mastery of Ice magic, and her attention to detail, made her one of Merle Ambrose’s most trusted allies. It is even rumored that she is a member of the legendary Council of Light.
She is known throughout the student body as a tough but approachable fairy, equally known for great wisdom, firm standards, and an immeasurable capacity for love and compassion. And she loves all of her precious little snowflakes fiercely.
