Explaining the exciting journey through the breathtaking landscapes of Neelum Valley in my latest travelogue! In this episode, I embark on an unforgettable adventure starting from Islamabad and winding my way through the picturesque roads towards Kiran LOC in Azad Jammu & Kashmir. Along the way, we make a memorable stop at Muzzafferabad for a night stay and explore the enchanting beauty of Neelum Jhelum Hydro Power Plant and the majestic Dhani Waterfall. The history of Kashmir traces back to ancient times, with mentions in Sanskrit texts and records dating back to the 3rd century BCE. It has been a melting pot of civilizations, influenced by various rulers and dynasties, including the Mauryas, Kushans, Guptas, and Mughals. The region flourished under the rule of the great Kashmiri king, Lalitaditya Muktapida, during the 8th century, known for his architectural marvels and patronage of arts and literature. Nestled amidst the mighty Himalayas, the region of Kashmir has captivated the hearts of travelers and poets for centuries with its unparalleled beauty, serene landscapes, and vibrant culture. Spread across the northernmost part of the Indian subcontinent, Kashmir is often referred to as "Paradise on Earth" for its breathtaking valleys, snow-capped peaks, pristine lakes, and lush greenery. Kashmir's cultural heritage is a tapestry of diverse traditions, including Kashmiri Pandit, Muslim, Sikh, and Buddhist influences. The region is renowned for its classical music, traditional crafts such as Pashmina shawls, papier-mâché, and exquisite woodwork. The annual Amarnath Yatra and the Urs festival at the shrine of Hazratbal are among the prominent religious events that draw pilgrims and devotees from far and wide. One of the most iconic symbols of Kashmir is Dal Lake, a vast expanse of shimmering waters dotted with houseboats, gardens, and floating markets. The Mughal Gardens, with their meticulously manicured lawns and terraced gardens, offer a glimpse into the grandeur of Mughal architecture and landscaping. Thank you for watching!
