The city of Sulaimaniya in Iraq is preparing to open a Roman-style runway to promote cultural events in the city at a cost of $ 4.6 million.

The runway, which was built two years ago, is inspired by the colosseum stage and design in Rome, Italy, and is scheduled to open to the public in June.

The stadium will serve as a platform for cultural performances, artistic activities and festivals similar to those in Jordan and Tunisia, attracting tourists.

The open oval runway is located in the Hawari Char area and can accommodate up to 5,000 people, including a theater, a zoo, playgrounds and a shopping mall.

The project was funded by the government and donations from businessmen in the Kurdistan region of Iraq.
