Installing a Powertrain Control Module
Installing a Powertrain Control Module (PCM) on a Chrysler vehicle? Check out this quick video offering a few tips to ensure a successful install with no error codes.
Tips:
• Inspect all PCM controlled components and related circuit shorts and repair or replace as needed.
• CARDONE replacement units with part numbers ending with a "V" will need to make sure that the VIN and service reminder indicator mileage have been programmed into the replacement PCM.
• Absence of correct VIN, will result in VIN mismatch DTC as well as illuminating the ABS and/or airbag lamps.
• Absence or correct VIN in PCM replacement unit may cause drive-ability issues and will void the warranty.
• NOTE: The FLASH 2 Re-programmer shown in this video will successfully program VIN and mileage into any Chrysler PCM other than Cummins modules. Cummins modules must be programmed using DRB III/StarScan (Refer to Service Manual).
