This is the proper methods for easy wire connections when twisting electrical wire. Extra Information Is below in the description This video Was originally dedicated to Jason & Nikki Wynn with Gone with the Wynns. Hope this helped you out guys.
Electrical connections are a leading cause of boat and home fires. Keep an eye out for bad wiring. Almost everything to watch for; is here in this one boat. OMG just won't cut it.
HORROR - ble Wiring. SAILBOAT REWIRE ...
I wanted to make sure people didn't take something the wrong way. Twist connections done properly are great but you cannot put too many of them in the line especially on a main power draw connection. If you have too many or too many to close together it will cause them to heat up. Replace them sections with one piece of wire. And a good butt-connector can be better than a twist in the right locations.
Never make too many connection in a single wire. As in don't have like 4 connections in a 6 foot run unless using the proper gauge wire. Connections resist and cause HEAT BUILDUP and can melt your wires or wiring.
Its good practice to pull firmly on the connection to test and make sure it is a solid connection.
This was just a quick video on quick connections. I will try to get a video out that has more detail.
Extras:
get the right size heat shrink
put the heat shrink on before connecting your wires
never use wire nuts on moving vehicles
also never use solid core wire on vehicles
you can get butt connectors with heat shrink already on them (the best ones)
use the correct gauge wire (awe) (size)
