Hackberry, or litonero as it is called in Aragon, has been used to make numerous implements and tools due to the flexibility of its wood. In 2012, in the town of Panzano (Huesca), Francisco Bescós knew well the technique of taking advantage of spontaneously growing shoots to make hooks or gayatas.
