The rat repelling sound video I uploaded in 2020 had frequencies above 16,000Hz cut off due to YouTube specifications.
I learned that YouTube has recently begun to output 20,000Hz sound, so I tried editing it again to make it more random and unpleasant.
The 20000Hz sound, which was previously completely cut out, is now slightly included. However, even now, due to YouTube's compression specifications, frequencies above 16,000Hz are largely cut off.Well, you don't have to worry about high frequencies. There is no need to worry about the rat repellent effect.
A drawback of commercially available ultrasonic repellents is that they are effective at first, but once the rats get used to them, they become ineffective.
Therefore, rather than creating a "regular rhythm" or "regular high pulse sound" sound, I was conscious of creating random, unpredictable, unpleasant, and unsettling sounds.
As with the previous video, I edited the sound emitted by bunkaimajin's movie "Mouse Repellent Nezumi Out" (manufacturer: Sankyo Disinfection). I made a 2 hours video by making some edits, such as slightly raising and lowering the pitch, changing the speed, amplifying the treble, playing it backwards, and playing different sounds on the left and right speakers.
The previous video mainly used sounds in the range of 10,000 to 15,000 Hz, but it seems that the noise was something rats dislike, and I have received feedback that it is effective (also some say it is not effective). I think there are various factors that contribute to the difference in effectiveness, such as playback equipment and environment.
This video mainly has the same high-pitched sounds as the previous video, but there are also a few sounds above 20,000Hz. However, I think the effect will probably not be that different from the previous video.
Additionally, I noticed something when I used audio waveform analysis software to analyze several videos uploaded by other people purporting to be rat repellent sounds. Those videos contained high frequency sounds (nearly 20,000Hz). However, there was a tendency for there to be many videos with extremely low decibels. Many videos have low original volume, and even when the volume is set to maximum, the overall sound is low volume. I think that a high volume is important as a rat repellent sound.
The purple spectrum display on the right is the pitch of the sound (Red is stronger than purple, and white is stronger than red).
