How to control seizures at home is very important because it is very unpredictable when will someone has a seizure. if not controlled within five minutes, it may cause permanent neurological damage.
Don'ts:
1. Do not panic
2. Do not put anything inside the mouth
3. Do not restrain the child
Do's:
1. Stay calm
2. Remove harmful objects around
3. Cushion the head
4. Roll to the recovery position
5. Wipe off the secretion from nose and mouth
6. if possible, note the time duration
7. video record if you can
8. Use midazolam spray or tablet as advised by the doctor
Visit nearest health facility in case of emergency (persistent seizures or not arousable after control of seizures)
