I really love today's soap!
I really love today's soap! It is the perfect blend of pastel purple shades coupled with a very beautiful scent! We hope that you enjoy today's soap making tutorial showing you how we created this soap!
Today we will be showing you how we have made our "Roses & Ferns" Mother's Day soap. We created our little rose embeds ahead of time using our soap dough (we use our regular soap recipe to create our soap dough) and we piped our fern leaves from a piping bag a couple of days before we made the actual soap. The fern leaves were spritzed a solution of mica and rubbing alcohol to ensure a good, even coverage of colour on them.
To create the actual soap, we used our regular soap recipe and we split the batter in half, colouring half with purple mica and leaving the other half plain. We then used the in the pot swirl technique to swirl the two colours together and then poured them into the mould. The top was then carefully decorated with the pre-made rose and fern leaf embeds and the whole loaf was covered and left for 24 hours before unmoulding and cutting took place.
This limited edition soap will be available to purchase on our website from midnight on 1st March 2021
We are using the 5lb loaf mold from Bramble Berry to create this design and this is the recipe that we used to fill our mold:
218g Sodium Hydroxide
480g Water
680g Olive Oil
198g Sweet Almond Oil
114g Castor Oil
368g Coconut Oil
150g Shea Butter
76g Cocoa Butter
2g Paisley Park Mica powder
2g Wisteria Mica powder
1g Frosted Thistle Mica Powder
2g Dragon's Gold Mica Powder (mixed with 4g rubbing alcohol)
9g Rose Clay
40 g "Yeah For Yummy" Fragrance Oil
