“I have no idea what to focus on”

Ever feel like that? I’ve been there

…and that’s why I developed a framework for thinking about how to approach any movement

When it comes to lifting the first thing you want to do is capture the ‘still frames’ this is your storyboard. Make sure you understand and can hit the key POSITIONs that we want you to hit.

- this means breaking it up and playing with the pieces ie. overhead squats, snatches from the hang or position 1, even pauses.

Once you can nail the positions it’s time to add the movement focus in, now we care not only about the positions but what it looks like to TRANSITION between them.

- Add those complexes in. Pull to knee + snatch, hang clean + clean etc.

Lastly once you’re keeping it nice and tight you can work on RHYTHM. This is the timing and speed element. We can play with slowing parts of the lift down and speeding other parts up to make the lift smoother.

- Tempos, slow eccentrics, panda pulls etc.

If you refer back to and through this framework. In this order you’ll alway make progress in your learning.

It’s what I’ve used with 100’s of athletes and what has made the biggest difference.
