Ariana Grande's new song has
Ariana Grande's new song has essentially taken over the internet. Since its release, not only has "thank u, next" had an entire life as a meme, but it's also been an incredibly successful song and a great introduction to the pop star's new album.
This is why when the video came out, everybody was so amazed at how thorough and wonderfully fitting for the song it was. Between the inside jokes, the celebrity cameos, and the incredible looks, it was clear that Ariana was trying to do something big and succeeded greatly.

The dollhouse Ariana is carrying in one scene is meant to be a reference to the film 13 Going on 30, a classic Anne Hathaway movie about a girl who wishes to be 30 and actually gets her wish granted!
8. Her Brother's Even There
Ariana's brother, Frankie Grande, was even included in the video in the 13 Going on 30 dollhouse scene. Frankie is is a dancer, actor, singer, producer, television host, and even YouTube personality! Talent really runs wild in the Grande family!
7. Just Imagine!
It's totally like Ariana to tease specific details of her upcoming album—the video for "thank u, next" is no exception. If you look closely in the back of the cheerleading scene, you'll see "imagine" written on the building in the background. This is reportedly one of the titles for part of her new album's track listing!
6. Mean Girls References Galore
The main theme of the video is a reference to the Tina Fey movie Mean Girls, referencing the burn book and even recreating entire scenes from the film. Tina must be proud, as they say imitation is the highest form of flattery!

As another reference to the movie Mean Girls, the girls do the Santa Claus talent show scene, but there's yet another cameo in the audience. Kris Jenner is actually there playing the role of the "cool mom" to add yet another layer of detail to the video!

The cheerleader scenes are meant to be a reference to the classic film series Bring it On. After the original was a hit at the box-office in the year 2000, it spawn the unbelievable amount of five sequels!
3. Legally Next!
The scene at the beauty parlor may seem obscure, but it's actually from Legally Blonde. It's meant to reference the iconic "bend and snap" scene! Reese Witherspoon at her finest!
2. Another Title
During the video, some fans noticed something of a motif—the license plate for the car said "7 rings", something that was also referenced during the "Breathin" music video. Could it be a hint at one of the songs on the new album?
1. Burning Messages
The scene with the burn book once again references her exes in real life —keep your eyes peeled for messages about Ricky and Pete! Ariana definitely knows how to keep her fans glued to the screen!
