الرئيس العراقي صدام حسين يلتقي كبار مجلس القيادة الثورة ويستشهد بـالمقاتل العربي أبو محجن الثقفي بغداد ، العراق 4 يناير 1999.

Rafqain Azza Ibrahim and Ali Hassan Al-Majeed presented vivid examples of the enthusiasm of our people for sacrifice in defending the homeland.
And from that, a large number of military imprisoned for technical, non-criminal reasons rushed to contribute to the national duty, showing a high willingness to sacrifice their blood in resistance to this Zionist colonial aggression.
And Mr. President will mention the shining example of this al-Thaqafi argument, which was embodied in the leadership of the Arab Islamic Army in the first battle of al-Qadisiyah by releasing him so that he would not be deprived of those who fought the enemies, and then they would be returned to prison after that.
And he said, His Excellency, God has now blessed Iraq with thousands like the Arab fighter

وقدمى رفقين عزة إبراهيم و علي حسن المجيد أمثلة حية على الحماسة لأبناء شعبنا للتضحية في الدفاع عن الوطن.
و من ذلك اندفاع عددا كبيرا من العسكريين المسجونين لأسباب فنية غير جنائية للمساهمة في واجب الوطني مبدينا استعدادا عاليا للتضحية بدمائهم في مقاومة لهذا العدوان الاستعماري الصهيوني.
و ستذكر السيد الرئيس النموذج المشرقة لهذه محجة الثقفي الذي تجسدى في قيادة الجيش العربي الإسلامي في معركة القادسية الأولى بإطلاق سراحه لكي لا يحرم من قاتلت الأعداء، ثم يعادوا إلى السجن بعد ذلك.
وقال سيادته لقد أنعم الله على العراق الآن بآلاف من أمثال المقاتل العربي
أبو محجن الثقفي مما يجسدون الحالة الروحية السامية التي ما نزال نقرأ عنها باعتزاز بوصفها حالة عظيمة في ميادينها.
ووجه السيد الرئيس للأمانة الحزم بتوثيقها هذه الامثلة رائعة.
كما وجه سيادته وسائل تقافة و الاعلام بتحدث عنها بما يبرز قيمتها الأخلاق و
