In this video we share The Terrifying Vision of Pope Leo XIII.
"On October 13, 1884, Pope Leo XIII celebrated Holy Mass, then attending another thanksgiving ceremony.
Suddenly those present saw him raising his head and looking intensely over the officiant.
Without even blinking, with his eyes wide open as if invaded by a feeling of terror and perplexity, his face changed color. Something extraordinary was happening.
When he finally came to his senses, he straightened himself, leaning on his hand with a slight but energetic movement and went to his private office.
His relatives, anxious, followed him and asked him quietly: "Holy Father, do you feel well?
Is something wrong with him?"
And he replied, "No, nothing."
Half an hour later, he called the Secretary of the Congregation of Rites, gave him a sheet of paper ordering him to print it and send it to all the bishops of the world.
What was its content?
The ardent invocation of the Prince of the heavenly Militia and the imploration to God to throw Satan into Hell, who prayed with the faithful at the end of the Mass along with the supplication to the Blessed Virgin." (See Father Amorth's book, "An Exorcist Speaks")
But what did Pope Leo XIII see in that vision?
The moment he was about to leave the altar, he heard voices: "After the Mass I heard two voices," he said, "one soft and good, the other guttural and hard; they seemed to come from the environment of the tabernacle.
It was the devil talking to the Lord, in a kind of dialogue...
Then I had a terrible vision of Hell: I saw the Earth opening as if it were a grenade.
It was covered with darkness and from the abyss a legion of demons arose that expanded around the world to destroy the works of the Church and attack the Church itself, which I saw reduced to the maximum."
Then Saint Michael appeared, who forcefully pushed the evil spirits back into the abyss.
Then I saw Saint Michael the Archangel intervened again but it was not at that time but much later, when people had already multiplied their fervent prayers towards the Archangel.
That is why it is in our hands to respond to this call of the utmost importance to hasten the total victory of the Church and thus shorten the sufferings that accompany this fight.
Here is the prayer to Saint Michael the Archangel that Pope Leo XIII wrote at the end of that vision and ordered that it be recited after each low mass:
"Saint Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle.
Be our protection against the wickedness and the snares of the devil.
May God rebuke him, we humbly pray; And do thou, O Prince of the Heavenly Host, by the power of God, thrust into hell Satan and all evil spirits who wander throughout the world seeking the ruin of souls.
Amen."
Although the obligation to pray it was abolished in 1964, Saint John Paul II put it back into force and Pope Francis, on September 29, 2019, on the feast of Saint Michael the Archangel, asked us all to pray during the month of October (dedicated to the Rosary): a rosary, the prayer to Mary "Under your protection" and the prayer to Saint Michael the Archangel.
"Under your protection we welcome, holy Mother of God, do not disavow the supplications that we address to you in our needs.
Rather, always deliver us from all danger, O glorious and blessed Virgin!"
