청와대 74년만에 개방, 개방 첫 날 분위기

Also... on this Tuesday... as mentioned earlier... the former presidential office... better known as the Blue House... has been... returned... to the public... as promised... by President Yoon... and... my colleague... Kim Yeon-seung  ... is there... to gauge... the public response... to this eventt.
Yeon-seung  ?

The Blue House gates have opened wide to the public for the first time in 74 years.
Just a little before midday, the first round of tourists swarmed in.
I heard some gasps and murmurs on how green and grand the scenery is when they first stepped past the gates.
The Blue House did organize tours before today, but they were always in small numbers and tourists were always supervised.
But from today, a large number of people are allowed freely browse around the Blue House grounds.
26-thousand people were randomly selected to be here for the opening day.
There is a lot of excitement buzzing in the air.
Some kids missed school to be here.
People of all ages came from near and far.
A lot of people said they were grateful, happy, and felt really lucky to be here.
They'll share their thoughts in interviews in our later newscast.

That being said... in the meantime... what do visitors need to keep in mind... while touring the grounds... Yeon-seung?

Well, indoors are still off limits.
There are still some confidential documents and office fixtures remaining inside, and authorities are sorting them out so that area can be opened to visitors as well.
Before then, visitors can freely view the exterior of some of the most famous Blue House halls like Yeongbingwan, the official reception hall for dignified foreign guests, and Sangchungjae the unofficial meeting area.
In the garden, Nokjiwon's greeneries are famously lush with over 120 types of trees.
There's also a famous pine tree that's over 700 years old.
There are also a lot of historical artifacts like the Seated Stone Buddha.
I also want to mention that the hiking trail behind the Blue House that leads up to Bukaksan mountain has also opened up this morning for the first time in over five decades.
I've also been hiking up the trail since the wee hours, and I've got to say, it's quite a view from up there.
Anyone who's interested can now come see for themselves without Blue House security stopping them.
To get the full Blue House tour, people can still sign up through mobile apps, Kakao, Naver, or Toss.
Tours are scheduled until the 22nd of this month, and can accept up to 6-thousand-500 people at two-hour intervals.. so that up to 39-thousand people can visit in a day.
Sunny, I'm going to be here until closing time, talking to more people, and taking in my first Blue House tour.
I'll be back with more at a later newscast.
Back to you, Sunny
