In day 1 of 9 we hunt down and collect feral or wild pigeons from a barn up North and turn them into a delicious bacon wrapped meal complete with wild mushrooms, and wild apples, seasoned with delicious woodobo spice! We also set a live pigeon trap which we will check back on periodically throughout my stay up North.
We do a quick trip to the bushcraft camp to see if it lasted the winter, and also re-bait the black bear stand in hopes a bear will start coming in.
This video is part of a whole series called '9 Days in the North' that I put together while completing the trap course in North Bay with Ryan Tamlin. The course will certify me as a legal trapper and permit me to use all kinds of traps from no on and even run my own trapline! Throughout the series, we will hunt bear, duck, geese, grouse and whatever other critter is unfortunate to cross our path!
