Battery generators are great for backup power if you know how to connect them. I show you 3 options for connecting appliances & hard-wired circuits to your battery or small gas generator that can give backup power when you need it.

I show you the Leoch battery generator/power station & the Honda EU2200i for examples
Keep in mind your appliances vary in terms of power needs and generators due also. The Leoch has a lot of output and I shared what I can run in my own house because it's real and it works for me. Be sure to check your appliances to determine how many watts they need to run, but keep in mind appliance don't run 24x7. Your heat and fridge turn off and on, meaning they may only run 2 hours out of 24. So your mileage will vary but in my experience this setup has worked well many times even with a smaller generator gas/battery.
