I have been working on the best method to clean up manure in my pasture because I have four horses and I want to cut down on any worm load that might be in the soil.

Ideally, you should clean up pasture manure every 3 days in order to disrupt the breeding cycle of flies and worms. Manure can be composted down and used in the garden.

I have frequently used a lawn sweeper to clean up manure (which works), but I wanted to see if dragging it first would help.

The benefit to dragging the manure first was that the pieces would be smaller and easier to compost down. In this case, I'm placing the manure directly in my garden to let my chickens go through it, and hoping it'll compost down quickly because it's February and I want it to be fairly aged by May when I plant.

Unfortunately, I'm not sure if dragging first may cause eggs to fall into the soil and not get cleaned up. I don't know enough about flies or worms. But it's also winter and fairly cold.

I usually will place the manure into an aerated static compost bin, but currently I'm relocating my bins because we are having an arena built. in a perfect world, you will compost your manure down and then use it in your fields to improve the soil quality or in your garden.

Honestly, I'm still trying to work out the best method for pasture cleanup and composting because it is such a huge part of living on the farm. I also want it to be as easy as possible because I have limited time.

I will try to post other videos showing different methods I try as I go.
