“Now is the time…” Seventh generation North Carolinian Omisade Burney-Scott of Durham revels in hearing others’ stories—and in telling her own—as a way of healing. As the creator and curator of the popular Black Girls’ Guide to Surviving Menopause Podcast, Omisade is exploring and confronting the cultural, familial and societal ideas around aging, establishing spaces for Black women over 50 to have honest conversations about the realities of getting older.
