2025 Mercedes AMG SL63S E Performance In Depth Look

This is the all new Mercedes AMG SL63S E Performance. This is the very first SL63S model ever, and the first ever SL AMG to be working as a hybrid. So let’s start of with the performance figures. First of all, this car has way more power compared to the normal SL63, at a combined 807 hp and 1,047 lb-ft of torque from a 4.0L Twin Turbo V8 hybrid with the new E Performance motor system. 0-100 km/h time would be around just under 3 seconds, which is still insane considering the batteries that are increasing the weight of this vehicle, mainly to over at least 1.9 tonnes. This is only available as a convertible, so when you have the roof up, acceleration might be slower due to aerodynamic drag. There is also the Mercedes Active Ride suspension that keeps the car flat and smooth and maximizes handling and performance. The interior on the other hand, is pretty much the same as every other new Mercedes I have reviewed, with a tablet sized screen, and the enw Mercedes mbux infotainment system. You will also get the additional Burmester speakers throughout the interior, just like you get in the other AMG SL models. You will also get the AMG performance seats as standard which was only an option on the normal SL63. The exterior meanwhile, has not been changed that much. The headlights, as shown in the video, look a little darker than the normal SL63, mainly to make this car look more sporty since this is a car with higher performance. The same goes for the taillights, which upon entry of the vehicle, do a little sequence when turning on to greet you. You will also of course get a charging compartment at the back since this is a plug in hybrid performance vehicle. And finally, we will get onto the pricing. This is not available in Canada yet, but it was technically available for 2024 on the American Mercedes website (mbusa.com) at an unknown price. Official pricing figures will probably be shown in 2025 for both Canada and the US. This SL63S E Performance has just been revealed in Europe this summer, so for it to arrive in North America, you will have to wait until probably later in 2025.
