HI Guys-
Today we have a sad and tragic story of 2 hikers, Carole Wetherton & Kimberly Beverly who where experienced in wilderness travel but made a few seemingly small mistakes. These mistakes were compounded when a high mountain winter storm came to the High Uinta mountains of north eastern Utah. During this storm they became lost in the wilderness and we try to piece together what happened to this mother and daughter who where just out for a day hike.

Search and rescue crews were expected to return Monday morning to the High Uintas in search of two out-of-state women who did not return home from a Utah vacation.
Carole Wetherton, 58, of Panacea, Fla., and her daughter, Kim Beverly, 40, of Tucker, Ga., were supposed to board a Saturday night flight to return home. But neither of them made the plane and family members called Utah authorities, the Summit County Sheriff's Office told KSL-TV.
The women's rented sport-utility vehicle was found near the Crystal Lake trailhead Sunday afternoon. Inside the vehicle were maps and notes believed to have been day hike plans, according to the sheriff's office.
