Take in the sights, smells
Take in the sights, smells and surroundings on one of our Freight Train Experiences. On selected days throughout the year we are offerings a limited amount of places on a NEW experience for 2015.
Participants will be able to jump aboard a genuine 1950’s Brake Van and enjoy a 24 mile round trip of the East Lancs Railway. You will be able to see the conditions that a freight guard works in and enjoy the outdoor nature of the experience.
Our freight train will travel at speeds up to 25 miles per hour and through our two tunnels. The wind will keep you fresh as the smoke and steam whirl around in front of your eyes.
This is a truly original experience which allows you to see the railway from the best views in the house.
The Freight Train Experience includes return travel on one of our 1950’s Brake Vans, an afternoon return trip on a standard passenger service and entry into the Bury Transport Museum.
