In this tutorial I show how I use FREE images found online to design this wooden flag using Carbide Create.

If you’re interested in checking out a Shapeoko or other cnc machines or 3d printers, check out this affiliate link from Matterhackers. I get a small kick back from every sale made when you click it, and it really helps the channel out. http://www.matterhackers.com?aff=7550

There is a small glitch in the video that skips the part where I import the EGA into Carbide Create. I do it the same way that I do the flag file shown in the video. Just click Import External File, and select the EGA svg. Click open. I increase the size of this image to 10.5 inches for this demo.

I’ve made some adjustments to my feed rates to speed things up a little. Try adjusting yours if you feel comfortable. I run my 1/8” endmil at 100ipm feed, 80 plunge, .056 step over, .05 doc, .080 total depth. I usually turn it up to 200% while it’s running. I run my 60 degree v bit at about the same, with a .156 doc.

With all of the changes Carbide Create has been going through lately, I decided it was a good time to do a new flag design video. You can check that out here: How To Make This Wooden We The People...
