Every October I have a traditional family event... Collection and cleaning, chopping and soaking of dry fruit and nuts for Christmas.

it is actually the only time we buy rum for the house  and this is sloshed generously on the chopped stuff.

and securely stored in glass jars, with more rum

I occasionally mix the bottles.

this is the #secretofsuccess of my Christmas cake 🍰
