An early lemon flavored cake using almond flour. This tasted absolutely amazing! The crust around the cake was satisfyingly sweet and crunchy while the inside was soft and delicious. There were many grain free receipts in the 18th and 19th century, this is one of them. Common substitutions for wheat flour were almond and rice flour.
