Did you know that growing inequality is damaging not just for society, but for the economy too? Even before COVID-19, the gap between rich and poor in OECD countries had widened to reach its highest level for decades during the aftermath of the financial crisis. For an inclusive, strong economic recovery, governments can and must do more to tackle global income and wealth inequality, according to an OECD report, "Divided We Stand."
