Ferrule for Awl - Using a brass compression nut. As easy way to make a ferrule for my birdcage awl.

I needed a ferrule for my birdcage awl. Based on what I've seen others do, including Mike Peace on YouTube I decided to use a brass compression nut. It was very easy to do.

This birdcage awl has become a very handy tool in my shop from the day I finished it. I'm certainly glad I made one. Thanks to Rob over at Make Things on YouTube for challenging his viewers to make a stubby awl.
