Say what... TWO CENTER CHANNELS?
Whew! Well, I FINALLY had a chance to do some speaker stuff, after a couple of grueling weeks of work, and I chose to have a little fun with an easy speaker project. In this video, I am taking a little departure from my usual vintage stereo speaker restomods, and experimenting with my home theater system.
So, here's what I'm doing: Adding a second center channel speaker to my 5.1.2 Atmos Up Firing Surround Sound System, to try and make the center channel soundstage larger and clearer. Taboo, I know... But hey, I'm adventurous like that and not afraid to try something different.
I know, I know... We won't hear anything because of cancellation, and the comb filtering will be so bad, we'll have to sit across the street to make heads or tails of the dialogue. That's an exaggeration, but the research PROVES that two center channels is a bad idea and will sound terrible... Or will it?
