PINEAPPLES ROTTING AWAY IN FARMS AS FRUIT FARMERS & PROCESSORS STRUGGLE FOR MARKET IN LUWERO-UGANDA

Fruit farmers and processors in Luwero and Nakasongola Luwero District’s are crying foul over lack of market for their raw produce and finished products.
Pine apples , the main cash crop in the two Districts are rotting in the farms due to low demand or facing expiry in the storage facility at a privately owned fruit processing factory in Kakooge, Nakasongola District.
The processors are appealing for Government intervention through enforcement of Buy Uganda Build Uganda policy.
