Bamboo dance by the Kadazan
Bamboo dance by the Kadazan tribe of Sabah. In this video, you see them performing the bamboo dance in a very fast movement.
At Monsopiad Cultural Village, visitors can experience a real Kadazan Dusun culture that is one of the main ethic people of Sabah Borneo.
The Kadazan cultural show is the last segment of the tour here and locals will perform this dance as one of the acts. The Sabah bamboo dance starts off slow with male and female dancers moving around to the bamboo knocks with foot in and out.
At one stage, the bamboo dance starts to become faster and faster, where you see the skilled dancers maneuver in and out of the bamboo. This is quite incredible to witness, and after the performance, guests are then invited to try the Sabah bamboo dance on stage.
My recommendation is for you to try it, as it is such an exciting dance. Do not worry as they will not hurt you, but if you deliberately want to get your legs clamped by the bamboo, you are welcomed to do so.
