English Grammar - Indefinite Article (a/an) Words Exercise

1) Article ‘an’ is added to singular countable word that starts with vowel sound. Most of the time, article ‘an’ is added to singular countable word starting with vowel letter Aa, Ee, Ii, Oo, Uu, except silent letter in beginning.

2) Exception words with silent letter in beginning or words with consonant sounds in the exercise are highlighted with proper reasoning while answering them.
Example: herb, hour, honour, honest start with silent letter ‘h’ and have vowel sound so article ‘an’ is added, whereas uniform, utensil, university,  European and one start with vowel letter u, e and o respectively, but they begin with consonant sound “you” and “w” so article ‘a’ is added to them.
