How to Read a Material Safety Data Sheet

Description:  One of the most under-taught and important skills in science and just in general, is the ability to read an MSDS sheet.  MSDS sheets describe the safety precautions and harmfulness of the chemical for which they are assigned.  By using and being able to accurately read these sheets, we are able to understand how much caution we should take in the lab.

Content Area:  Physical Science/Chemistry

Instructional Objective:  After viewing this video, a student will be able to correctly interpret and describe the precautions needed to be taken when working with a given chemical.

Learner Description:  This video is targeted at middle school or high school physical science and chemistry students, although at a general level, college students taking an introductory lab science could also benefit from viewing.
