💬 LESSON DESCRIPTION:
In this video, I explain how to write a song on guitar in a minor key.
This video is part one of a two-part series that I have planned.
In part one, we create a song form and write chord progressions for each section.
In part two (coming next week), we’ll finish the song by writing melodies for lead guitar and vocals.
My process in this lesson has four steps:
1. Map out chord options
2. Create a song form
3. Write chord progressions
4. Play through the song form
We go through a bunch of exercises to help you understand all the options to choose from when writing chord progressions.
You can also learn to use some chords that are outside of the key!
At the end, I play the chords with drums and bass to give you a sense of how the complete song is going to sound.
