Original air date: April 21, 2016, at 7 p.m. PT (10 p.m. ET, 0200 UTC) Over the last 15 years, a miniature revolution in space science has been underway: CubeSats! First flown as educational tools the size of soup cans, significant capabilities have now been developed to allow these nanospacecraft to travel to the moon, asteroids and even Mars. We’ll talk about how NASA, companies and students are building and flying small spacecraft, and what types of missions they are achieving. Tiny telescopes, plume fliers, and asteroid rovers—-the solar system is open for novel exploration! Speaker: Dr. Andrew Klesh, Chief Engineer for Interplanetary Small Spacecraft, JPL
