Structured Play w/ Ozzie, working Obedience and incorporating Premack Principle and Marker Discrimination.

The toy is considered to be higher value to this individual dog so I am asking him to take a lesser value reward (treats) before following up with the higher value reward. I am also teaching him with premack that the obedience (sit, down, bark) which may be lesser value behaviors, lead to higher value behaviors/rewards such as play (chase, catch, bite, etc). This will add value to those lesser value behaviors as well overtime. Making the work almost as rewarding for the dog as the rewards themself!

The words “Yes” and “Stellen” are my marker words. “Yes” for a reward directly from me, “Stellen” for a reward away from me. The dog must be able to discrimate between the reward markers which predict reward placement. This assists in introducing premack.
