Process of haemostasis and its various stages

Haemostasis, also known as hemostasis, is a biological process that prevents and stops bleeding, meaning to keep blood within a damaged blood vessel. It is the first stage of wound healing and involves coagulation, which changes blood from a liquid to a gel. Hemostasis involves three major steps: vasoconstriction, temporary blockage of a hole in a damaged blood vessel by a platelet plug, and blood coagulation (formation of fibrin clots) .
