EPISODE DESCRIPTION
Despite being separated by oceans and their reigns of power being centuries apart, there are eerie similarities between the societies of the Mongols and the Comanche. Aliens?… of course not. But in this episode I do take a look at the similarities between their culture and the likely driver that makes societies have remarkable parallels. .
Their range was far beyond that of the typical societies of the time. It was made possible by their grassland geography and use of the horse. They provided them mobility. They paired the horse with a bow and arrow and created forces that could rival any army in the pre-modern world.
Their life as nomads contributed to both the Mongols and Comanche developing brutal warrior cultures where cruelty and raiding were the norms. The treatment of enemies was a chilling testament to their strength.
