The focus of this video is: Recycling for Kids | A Lesson On Why Recycling Is Important | Recycling Aluminum, Plastic and Paper
Today, we're going to learn about recycling. Have you ever seen a recycling bin before? They're usually blue and have a symbol on them that looks like three arrows going in a circle.

Recycling is when we take materials that we no longer need and turn them into new products. It's a way to reduce waste and help the environment.

Did you know that recycling just one aluminum can can save enough energy to power a television for three hours? And recycling a single glass bottle can save enough energy to light a 100 watt light bulb for four hours? That's pretty amazing, right?

So how do we recycle? First, we need to separate our recyclables from our trash. We can do this by putting them in a recycling bin, or by separating them into different bags or bins.

Here are some common items that can be recycled:

Aluminum cans
Glass bottles and jars
Plastic bottles and containers
Cardboard boxes
Paper products like newspapers and office paper
It's important to rinse out any food or liquid from these items before recycling them, so they don't attract pests or create a mess at the recycling plant.

Now, let's talk about what happens to our recyclables after we put them in the recycling bin. They are collected by a truck and taken to a recycling facility, where they are sorted by material. For example, all the aluminum cans go together, all the paper products go together, and so on.

Then, the materials are cleaned and processed into new products. For example, aluminum cans can be melted down and made into new cans, or even used to make airplanes and cars. Glass bottles and jars can be melted down and made into new bottles or other glass products. Plastic bottles and containers can be melted down and made into new plastic products, like toys or containers. And paper products can be recycled into new paper products, like notebooks or cardboard boxes.

Recycling is important because it helps to conserve natural resources, like trees, oil, and water. It also helps to reduce pollution, since making new products from recycled materials uses less energy and produces fewer greenhouse gases than making products from raw materials.

So the next time you see a recycling bin, remember to put your recyclables in it. Together, we can make a difference and help to protect our planet for future generations.
