Welcome to Cookie's Critters.

We are reptile breeders in Western Sydney and this channel is to educate our customers and followers. The reptiles that we breed are Central Bearded Dragons, Pygmy Bearded dragons, Knob tail geckos, and Northern Velvet Geckos.

Today we are discussing the UVB requirements for Bearded Dragons. We discuss topics such as Ferguson zones, compact UVB, T8 and T5 UVB Tubes and practical application how to set up the correct UVB lighting.

Bearded Dragons need a UV Index between 2.9 and 7.4 UVI. A UV Index below 2.9 can cause Metabolic Bone Disease (MBD). A UVI higher than 7.9 can cause health issues such as cancer.

Bearded dragons require a UV gradient to allow them to get away and rest in the shade, just like they need a heat gradient.

In the future our expansion will include Blue tongue skink morphs, carpet pythons and green tree pythons.
