I bought 25 Black Lion Keys because they were super cheap and I had 20 bucks just burning a hole in my pocket for some reason.

Hilarity ensues.

Jokes aside, this is footage that I recorded while I was making the GW2 Secrets of the Obscure video on my main channel. I didn't want to just trash the footage, since I assumed someone here could get something out of it.

And before anyone asks, I did use the contract for myself. 6k gold seems really nice, but I'm actually at a point in the game where gold doesn't do much for except for being able to purchase mats for legendaries. I've played the game for well over 3,000 hours, there's not a whole lot that gold can do for me, unfortunately. I still need it, obviously, but it's not like I can do much with 6k gold that I couldn't do with 1k gold.

The only legendary weapons you can buy are the gen 1 and gen 3, and in my opinion, gen 2 legendaries are where all the cool stuff is. I thought it would be better to just use the contract now for myself, rather than hope and pray that they don't become more rare and therefore, their price increases on the trading post over time. Remember, I played back in the day when the contract was only 3k gold. Now it's worth 6k. It could go up even further, and when I hit the point where I want it, I don't want to have to pay 9k gold for it, I'd rather just have it now.

Does that make sense? I feel like I'm rambling here, but whatever.

I feel like I COULD have sold it and then used the money to basically buy most of the other permanent contracts, like the reinforcing and upgrade extractor, because I do use those quite a bit. But naaaaaah, this is fine.
