Man affected by a rare condition is desperate to have his legs amputated

Robert has Hypermobile Ehlers-Danlos syndrome which means at the age of just thirty even a short walk is almost impossible.

Despite leg braces and crutches his condition means knee dislocations are frequent and excruciatingly painful.

He's had multiple surgeries and treatments on both knees over the past fifteen years - but things are getting worse.

Robert believes amputating both legs would be the best option.

Having been unable to get the surgery he asked his MP to take up the case.

A letter to the health secretary on Robert's behalf got a reply suggesting he contact mental health charities.

For now, every day without a decision is another day in agony.
