Cars Of the 50's. 1958

Fabulous cars of 1958.  I graduated from high school and entered college that fall of 1958.  I remember these fabulous cars very well!

1958 cars were beautiful, big and expensive.  Some cost almost as a house! Gas was cheap and plentiful so none of us young people cared about that much.  A dollar could buy at least thee gallons which allowed us to drive the drag all evening, raising our index finger in a lazy salute to a classmate who was going the other way.

If you remember these wonderful pieces of 'Detroit Iron' I hope this slide show brings back pleasant memories to you.  If you were too young to remember or weren't even born yet, here's your chance to see what we drove back then!

The music, BTW is a song that was very popular in 1958:  Conway Twitty singing "It's Only Make Believe". I'm sorry about the hiccoughs Youtube put in the music.  They aren't in my original.  WHAT A SONG!  Brings back so many memories!
