Cathleen Cummings, associate professor of art history in the UAB Department of Art and Art History, speaks about art and social change in Southeast Asia. Cummings’ scholarly interests within South Asian art history include both the pre-modern and the modern eras. Her book book "Decoding a Hindu Temple: Royalty and Religion in the Iconographic Program of the Virupaksha Temple, Pattadakal (recipient of the 2011 American Institute of Indian Studies’ Dimock Book Prize for best unpublished manuscript in Indian studies) was published in July 2014.

The Theodore Haddin Arts and Sciences Forum is an ongoing lecture series at UAB's College of Arts and Sciences. The forum is a venue for Arts and Sciences faculty to talk about their research with their colleagues, students, and members of the public, and is designed to celebrate CAS faculty work and to launch new conversations.
