This video will discuss proper air flow on a GE side by side refrigerator.

Proper air flow is air that is allowed to pass freely between the freezer and refrigerator section. The air is pulled upward across the evaporator behind the freezer section wall. This air is cooled and then forced through the damper door at the top right of the refrigerator section.  The air is then sucked through an opening at the bottom of the refrigerator section.  It is then sucked through openings in the evaporator panel, through and across the frosted evaporator once more.

If food is blocking the return air vents or distribution vents, likely your refrigerator temperatures will suffer.

Symptoms of improper air flow:
- Refrigerator too warm
- Frozen foods on the top shelf of refrigerator (damper issues, thermistor issues, etc)
- Warmer than normal freezer temperatures, freezer too warm

Most common issues:
- Food blocking vents
- Evaporator fan motor not working
- Defrost issue, Ice clogs up the evaporator preventing air to flow through
- Damper door or motor has failed
