Long Life empowerment (mahasiddha Thangton Gyalpo’s lineage) – H.H. the 43rd Sakya Trizin. 7/7/2024

On July 7 2024 H.H. the 43rd Sakya Trizin is bestowing the Long Life empowerment (lineage of the mahasiddha Thangton Gyalpo). Sakya Friends is translating the empowerment into 12 languages: (English), Spanish, Mandarin Chinese, Cantonese Chinese, Vietnamese, Russian, Nepali, Portuguese, German, Italian, Polish and French. A brief practice is being given which brings powerful protection and blessings from Guru Rinpoche, Amitayus, Amitabha, Hayagriva.

TEXT FOR LONG LIFE PRACTICE

Prayer from the lineage of Mahasiddha Tangtong Gyalpo:
Hri Hri Hri
Amitabha, who caringly guards all beings,
Amitayus, who bestows immortality to living beings,
Hayagriva, the king of power, who dispels the hindrance to beings,
Padmasambhava, the saviour of beings in the degenerate age,
Tangtong Gyalpo who answers prayers unfailingly,
I pray to you to dispel negative circumstances and obstacles
Please bestow blessings and the attainment of immortality.
Long life dharani (lineage of Mahasiddha Tangtong Gyalpo):
Om Amarani Jiwanti Guru Padma Krodha Punye Jñana Ayur Siddhi Hri Hri Hri

EMPOWERMENTS' SAMAYA
After receiving this empowerment there is no requirement for a daily sadhana practice. However, anyone may voluntarily take up a commitment of doing the recitation of Dharani and Long Life prayer (from the lineage of mahasiddha Tangtong Gyalpo).
For receiving the Sakya empowerment there are commitments also mentioned in the Seven-Limb Prayer (which is recited during Sakya empowerments): confessing all the negative deeds, rejoicing in the virtuous deeds of beings, directing one's mind towards aspiring and engaging bodhichitta, taking the Buddhist refuge,  bodhisattva vows and 14 Vajrayana vows.
Since that is the highest tantra, during the empowerment prayers 14 root Vajrayana vows will be taken. Explanation of those 14 vows is published here: Explanation of the 14 root Vajrayana ...  

Any Vajrayana empowerment starts by taking (renewing) the bodhisattva vows.
