Yo! The other day I was in the city of Vernon near Huntington Park (For all my locals in Los Angeles) and I saw this ad for this rack mounted sampler. Before I came across this sampler, I remember reading about it and how it related to the Roland S-10 keyboard sampler. Some dude in LA was selling an S-10 a while back and I really wanted to pick it up but it wasn't meant to be. Fast forward to the future, I met this guy who is a magnificent studio drummer who was selling the rack mounted version of the S-10, the Roland MKS-100 (12 bit sampler). A digital sampler from the middle late 80's that just has that crunchiness/grittiness to it. I almost didn't pick it up but the price was the best on the market at the time and I just couldn't pass up. I hoped in my car went to Vernon City and picked up this bad boy and took it home with me. This video I talk about the Pros and Cons of the Roland MKS-100, and I use its limited amount of sampling time to make a beat. I hope you guys enjoy! Thank you for watching!
