Crashes and Landings

Any landing you can walk away from is a good landing. Here are some spectacular airplane crashes in which nobody was injured.

The deliberate drone B-17 crash into a mountain is a classic. Scenes of the smoldering wreckage are sometimes missed; we have them here. PQ-14 single-engine drones are also seen hitting the mountainside. Scenes of JB-2 buzz bomb copies going awry on launch are dramatic. (When this video was edited several years ago, an estimated/simulated buzz bomb sound was used. This should actually be more of a constant low growl than the putt-putt sound heard here.) A Navy F6F Hellcat fighter skidding to a wheels-up stop in the Pacific is a happy ending for the pilot, who strolls around his aircraft.
