Cover a Naked Call, Naked Calls and Covered Calls Explained. The Daily Options Trade Covering a Naked Call Trade Using the oldest method. let's buy some stock. Selling this naked call was a mistake. I do not like to sell a naked call, but covered calls are totally a great play. When selling a naked call you hope the price of the stock goes down. There is not limit to the amount of the money you can lose on a naked call option. When you buy a call your downside is limited to the amount you spent on the call. If you sell a naked put your downside is limited to the price of the stock because it could goto zero by expiration. Overall selling a naked call is not really that risk unless you happed do sell a naked call on gamestop right before it took off to the moon. There is a breakeven point for selling a naked call just like any other option. This is a learning opportunity for me and you to be sure what account you are trading in before you make the trade and commit to it. Ok. This is not the first time i have made a mistake trading, but now it is documented on video and published on youtube! Let the mocking begin!
