Musicians who took part in this concert: Nariman Hodjati (tar), Saeed Kamjoo (kamantsche), Masih Madani (tombak) and Syavash Rastani (Daf). The history: One of Maryam Akhondy's projects is named "Sarmast", which means "intoxicated" -- intoxicated from the beautiful lyrics of the greatest Iranian poets (such as Hafez and others). These lyrics have always fascinated Maryam Akhondy and inspired her to write beautiful songs. So this Sarmast-project are all her own compositions, in the manner of classical Persian art-music. The CD "Sarmast - Iranian art music for texts of Persian poets" has been published in 2006 (Laika Records, Bremen, Germany).
