Surrounded by clear water, white sandy beaches and lush tropical foliage, this tranquil beach is famous all over the world. A great place for fun times, playing at Maho Beach. Before there was an airport nearby, Maho Beach was a typical Caribbean beach. However, in 1942, the United States built a small military airstrip, which later handled commercial flights in 1943. After Dutch Crown Princess Juliana landed there in 1944, the airport was named after her. Due to its proximity to the Princess Juliana International Airport, the location is very popular with airplane watchers.
